Upgrading an existing industrial WWTP

2006 ROCtecs/BDP got the opportunity to refurbish two existing SBR basins for the Jilin Acrylonitrile Plant.

The demanded requirements are using the existing basin area, reaching the government requested effluent standards and doubling the influent volume.

Short description:

The factory produces different kinds of acrylonitrile. The waste water includes the following chemical items: Cyanide, 2-Ethyl-Hexanol, Formaldehyde, organic acid, Petroleum and Sulphide.

The concentration of CODCr, NH₃-N is high and the existing biological treatment was extremely inefficient.

 

Existing treatment:

The former pre-treatment process was SBR, the treatment capacity was 80 m³/h, and the effluent did not reach the effluent standards and has a high concentration of Cyanide.

 

Treatment after upgrading:

All-in-one basin ROCtecs/BDP bio-process 

The treatment capacity was increased to 200 m³/h without using any additional space. 

The effluent COD is much better than the former SBR treatment and the operation costs are remarkable reduced.
